Meeting with Mr. Charis Sapountzakis in the Council of Nea Ionia

 As part of the process of the photograph documentation from the collection of “Dimitris Georgopoulos” we recently asked the assistance of the Nea Ionia council. Following the suggestion of the deputy mayor Mr. Kostakis, we met Mr. Charis Sapountzakis; we refer to him with one of his titles – the President of the Union of Sparta, part of Middle Asia. The information he provided to us was very important for the identification of people and places.

The two books that Mr. Sapountzakis donated to the “Anonymous” were valuable for the information they contained and also exemplar regarding the use and promotion of archival material.The books were: “The first immigrant schools in Nea Ionia” (Charis Sapountzakis – Makis Likoiudis, ΚΕ.ΜΙ.PΟ publications 2008) as well as the album “the Spartalides In the new and old homeland” (Charis Sapountzakis,Union of Sparta of Middle Asia,2007)

 We want to thank the council of Nea Ionia and Mr. Charis Sapountzakis via our website, for the interest they showed in our request and we hope to continue our cooperation in the near future.
